Military swap meet

Historical events for your calendarHere is just a quick note if you otherwise missed the announcements.

Historic Fort Steilacoom Museum Association will host a Military Swap Meet and Display from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday so history buffs can scan through original and reproduction military goods from multiple time periods. The event is open to the public free of charge. It will provide tours of the remaining fort buildings as well as lively discussions on all things military history. The museum is located on the grounds of Western State Hospital.

The next event for the Lakewood Historical Society will be its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church and School. The topic will be “The Future Remembered: The 1962 Seattle World’s Fair and Its Legacy.”
