Lakewood United Methodist Church Adds Support to Area Residents

Locals benefit from the new Fish Food Bank location and other social services on Steilacoom Boulevard.

The moved from its long-time home at to its new location at the on Steilacoom Boulevard. 

The new location has is directly on the bus line, with a bus stop adjacent to the parking lot. The Food Bank occupies two former Sunday School classrooms on the lower level of the education wing.

The Food Bank is open to clients from 2-6 p.m. three days a week. The Food Bank offers a number other services including low cost spay and neutering for pets, free haircuts and social services referrals.

According to statistics, the Food Bank serves an increasing number of clients each month. In April, more than 5,600 individuals and 1,400 families were served.

In addition to the Food Bank, a Clothing Bank is also available.

The church also hosts a number of 12-Step programs and other rehabilitative services. For information on the meeting times, please contact the church office at 253-588-2118.
