Register For a Painted Wagon

Paint a little red wagon to promote your business and organization as well as show your support for Lakewood's youth.

Businesses and organizations can display their own custom painted little red wagon this summer to promote what they do as well as to say that they support Lakewood's  youth. The deadline for registering to paint a wagon is MAY 25.   There is still time to REGISTER ONLINE.

The Paint Your Wagon event is  coordinated through Lakewood's Promise which encourages programs within the city to provide:

  1. Caring Adults
  2. Safe Places
  3. A Healthy Start
  4. Effective Education
  5. Opportunities to Help Others

The little red wagon is the symbol of America's Promise as well as Lakewood's Promise. The wagon represents all that is good about kids growing up — adults pulling, kids learning to pull, and then being able to pull others.  A wagon can be filled with hopes and dreams and it takes all of us to see that those dreams become reality.

The painted wagons will be displayed and viewed by thousands  at SummerFEST (June 25) and then showcased by their owners throughout the summer so that people (wagon fans) can visit them at the place of business and comment on their unique qualities. All summer, Lakewood's Promise and our online media will encourage people to visit the wagons both in person and online.

In October, youth and adults will gather together at City Hall to celebrate Lakewood as an amazing place for young people.  During this event the wagons will be displayed and judges awards presented.

After the event, the wagons return to their owners — maybe to come out next summer. Are you planning on painting a wagon? This is a real creative way to market your business to youth and familes in Lakewood. Register today.
