It is a collective pool of information, experiences, and resources. You can network with others in the group to solve a problem that may be new to you, but old to another member of the group. It is a way for people to stay informed on housing issues, trends and legislation. It can improve how you conduct business on a day-to-day basis.

LOCAL members are from all districts in Lakewood. Since we all live together here, we all need to work towards achieving common goals. The group works closely with the Lakewood Police Department. The Neighborhood Patrol Officers are helping to make Lakewood a better place for families to reside. Crime throughout the city has been reduced by as much as 27 percent. Members strive hard to maintain their crime-free status with the police.

By having a separate group, larger issues or concerns can be put before the City Council. An individual receives three minutes to address the council. As a group, a spokesperson can address the Council for 10 minutes.

If you have any questions about the group or have some concerns about your neighborhood, reach Dawn McGinnis with Lakewood Police at 253-830-5027. Get your questions answered and find out how you can become a part of the solution and not just the group that complains.
