Seahawks Hang On For First Win Against Cardinals
A tough defense and a gutsy run by Seattle quarterback Tavaris Jackson helps lift the Seahawks to a 13-10 victory against the Cardinals.

There is finally something to smile about for Seahawks fans. Seattle earned its first win of the season with a 13-10 victory.
It wasn't pretty by any stretch of the imagination.
Seattle's offense made strides this week, and with Sidney Rice back in the lineup, it gave the offense a desperately-needed boost. Their offense was not very clean, but it looked better compared to last week's shutout loss to Pittsburgh. They were really clicking in the first quarter. Tavaris Jackson connected with Rice throughout the game. In his Seahawk debut, Rice caught a game-high eight passes for 109 yards.

Jackson completed 18 passes for 171 yards and an interception. His best play was an amazing rushing touchdown, the team's only TD. The play seemed to breakdown, so he ran it, and took a big shot before scoring. It was the first time Seattle's offense had crossed the goal line in 11 quarters. Fans booed Jackson and chanted for backup QB Charlie Whitehurst, but Jackson kept his composure and led Seattle to its first victory of the season.
Our defense gets two thumbs up this week. They were tough up front and sacked Arizona quarterback Kevin Kolb several times and intercepted two of his passes. It would have been three but Brandon Browner was called for pass interference and Earl Thomas' interception was reversed. There aren't many bad things to say about the Seahawks' defense this week. Kolb was held to a 69.9 passer rating and Larry Fitzgerald totaled just 64 yards and a touchdown. Additionally, Arizona combined for just 90 yards on the ground.

There are still plenty of areas that need improvement, but getting a victory snapping a two-game losing streak builds confidence for next week in a home game against the Atlanta Falcons.
