Seattle Painter Marsha Glazière is the Featured Artist at Pierce Fort Steilacoom

Glazière's work will be on display at the college through Aug. 11.

Pierce College Fort Steilacoom will kick off summer in the Fine Arts Gallery with an exhibit of paintings by acclaimed Seattle artist Marsha Glazière.

A reception for Glazière will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday. Refreshments will be served. All are welcome to attend.

The exhibit opens Thursday and runs through Aug. 11.

Glazière’s mixed media drawings, paintings, and sculpture are done in a contemporary style that marries natural and urban landscapes and themes. She has taught at Western Washington University, Seattle Pacific University, Pratt Fine Arts Center, University of North Florida, and Florida International University. She has served several artist-in-residence positions and received grant funding to bring art to disadvantaged youth in Seattle schools.

The Fine Arts Gallery is located at Pierce College Fort Steilacoom, 9401 Farwest Drive SW, Lakewood. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to noon Friday.
