Senioritis Peaks as Sunny Days and Prom Approach

Senioritis reaches its fullest as the rare sun graces Lakewood and Lakes High School Prom approaches this Saturday.

Senioritis

Parents with teenagers, especially seniors should be well acquainted with this term.
The notorious “senioritis” often applied to seniors has become a trend that even juniors have adopted, coming as early as late junior year. This crippling disease often strikes when least expected with symptoms including a sudden apathy for schoolwork, an inability to follow
directions and a spike in absences. Right now senioritis is in its peak as Advanced Placement tests come to an end, classes draw to a boring lull and the rare sunshine graces Lakewood.

To add on, excitement is building as the Lakes High School senior prom approaches. Girls have dresses on their minds as they exchange and admire pictures. Guys are glad that the event has finally arrived after the hardwork they had put in to find creative ways to ask
their dates. Teachers, well, they know that they can’t expect much work from
these distracted seniors.

In a final attempt to curb my own senioritis, I've decided to pick up a slightly more
useful way to spend my time: blogging. Though my remaining time in Lakewood is
dwindling as I prepare to head off to a very different, yet exciting world, college
on the east coast, I thought I’d sharpen my writing skills as I share some
interesting tidbits about Lakewood from a student’s perspective. :)
