Tillicum Elementary One of 15 Projects in Nation

It's a Garden Party!

Tillicum Elementary School — one of 15 projects in the nation — is inviting all veterans, active duty and military spouses/dependents and civilians with an interest in serving their community.  Join Target and The Mission Continues at Tillicum Elementary School, 8514 Maple St. SW, on Friday, Nov. 11, 2011 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

"This is an amazing opportunity to get our hands dirty," says Taj Jensen, Tillicum elementary principal.

Tillicum Elementary has several areas that have the potential of being gardens but are currently just beds of mulch, and volunteers will plant shrubs and other perennials, add soil and revitalize and colorize the school grounds.  Beyond being a school, Tillicum Elementary is also a central point for the community where several outside groups utilize the facility.
