Wasting Quality Mariners Pitching
The Seattle Mariners' offense is greatly lacking in hits and is taking a major toll on the pitching staff. Will bringing up fresh talent save the team from this hitting slump?

Having a stacked bullpen with the fourth best ERA in the league doesn't do much when working with the worst batting statistics. This is exactly the pickle the Seattle Mariners are currently in.
Pitchers are throwing complete games and finding themselves with the loss while allowing a run or two. The offense is producing a meager three or four hits as of late, including games where even fewer are recorded.
Seattle pitchers such as Doug Fister and Jason Vargas are suffering losses after tossing complete games, setting personal records in strikeouts. What use is a first-class pitching staff when all they receive in return is terrible run support?

Where does the slump leave the fan? It is safe to say that Mariners fans must be more frustrated than ever seeing such great talent on the mound rendered useless. Fans were teased with a winning streak and players hitting homeruns on a regular basis just a few months ago. Now, we are feeling the remnants of last season's disaster. Hopefully the lack of bats is just a short-lived slump, but I cannot help but be frustrated that the Mariners are losing despite the amazing stack of pitchers in the bullpen.
It is difficult watching your team lose game after game, but it is even more difficult to see losses with pitchers tossing games of their lifetime. Seattle Manager Eric Wedge seems to be addressing the issue by bringing up talent from Tacoma like third basemen Kyle Seager who has been hitting .455 in the past two weeks.

Seager will make his debut on the road against the Los Angeles Angels at 7:05 p.m. today.
Despite the recent slump, fans are still supportive and have all the faith in the world that the M's will rise again. Hopefully, after some major changes in the lineup, that time will come. Run support is the major issue at hand, but what else is lacking in the Mariner's line-up?
