Washington State’s Quiet Path to the Moon

On Saturday, July18, guest speaker Tom Rhodes will take you back 57 years and explore Washington State’s vastly overlooked role in the development and launch of the Apollo 11 spacecraft. The three Apollo11 astronauts became the first humans to land on the moon and walk the lunar surface.  

During the presentation you will learn the remarkable story of a Ballard High School graduate who helped guide the astronauts to the Moon before dedicating his life to bringing new life into our earthly world.

 These amazing stories and their amazing relationship to Washington State are not to be missed.

 Lakewood History Museum is located at 6114 Motor Ave SW. Doors open at 1:30 pm.  Programs begins at 2 pm.  Admission is free with seating first-come and light refreshments will be provided. For more information, call (253) 682-3480
