City Council Honors Sextet of Seniors For Academic Accomplishments

Mayor Doug Richardson calls honorees "whole students."

Six high-school seniors from schools in the Clover Park School District were recognized at Monday's City Council meeting for their academic honors.

"Not only are you renowned for your academics, but also for your commitment to the community," said Mayor Doug Richardson, who presented the sextet with City of Lakewood coins. "You are whole students."

Richardson said that while the council takes pride in honoring local student athletes and teams that make the state tournament, "we also want to make sure we recognize students for their academic accomplishments and how much the city holds them in high esteem."
