City of Lakewood Seeking Parks and Rec Enthusiasts to Join Advisory Board
Members will serve three-year terms; applications are being accepted through Aug. 6.

The City of Lakewood is looking to fill three vacancies on its Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
Members are appointed for three-year terms by the mayor and confirmed by the City Council. Applications are being accepted through 5 p.m. on Aug. 6.
Among the board's duties are to advise the City Council and city staff regarding the general operation and development of all parks and recreation facilities and programs in Lakewood; work with neighborhood groups and ad-hoc committees to formulate recommendations to the council; recommend rules and regulations; and recommend strategies to enhance awareness of, and interest in, Lakewood's parks and recreation programs.

Members must be Lakewood residents unless the City Council finds that the appointment of a non-resident, by virtue of business involvement or expertise, will benefit the committee and ultimately the city.
Board members are expected to attend regular meetings and adhere to the City of Lakewood's Code of Ethics. Meetings are held at 4:30 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of every month at City Hall.

There is no compensation to be on the board.
