Clover Park Football: Warriors Win in Overtime Thriller against Cruisers, 20-14
Clover Park senior running back DeShaun Green wins the game on a 13-yard rushing TD, finishing with a team-high 133 yards.
It didn't carry the lore of a baseball legend Babe Ruth calling his home run at Yankee Stadium, but Clover Park senior Deshaun Green's prediction was enough for the Warriors football team.
With the score tied 14-14 at the end of regulation, Green told his teammates that if the defense can stop Eatonville's running attack on the opening drive, he's carrying the team to success.
Truth be told.

“I told the defense I promise you if you stop them, I will get it in the end zone,” Green said. “That’s all I could do.”
The victory keeps the Warriors (2-4 overall, 2-2 league) in contention for a playoff spot with the victory against the Cruisers (2-4 overall, 1-3 league).
Eatonville had a legitimate shot at the winning the game before overtime. After stopping Clover Park on a fourth-down play inside the 5-yard line, the Cruisers marched down the field, but kicker Woody Moore missed a 27-yard chip shot, giving the Warriors life.
The Warriors stopped the Cruisers on a crucial fourth-and-short play in overtime and that's all Clover Park's offense needed. It’s the team’s second victory in a row after defeating Sumner on the road last week.
Clover Park head coach Jon Randall said Eatonville was taking away some of the things they were trying to do on the ground but that they had to remain true to the running game..
“DeShaun (Green) has been awesome for us,” Randall said. “He’s been carrying the mail. He said give me the rock and I’ll get it in. He backed up his word.
