Clover Park's Scott Nordi Honored As 2012 Athletic Director of the Year

He won the honor for the Washington Secondary School Athletic Administrators Association (WSSAAA) District 3.

Scott Nordi, athletic director at Clover Park High School, has been named the Washington Secondary School Athletic Administrators Association (WSSAAA) District 3 High School Athletic Director of the Year.

Nordi, who has worked at Clover Park since 2005, was honored at the WSSAAA State Conference last month in Spokane.

“It was a very humbling experience,” Nordi said in a news release by the Clover Park School District. “It’s an honor to be recognized by my peers, but I do this job because I love it —not for the accolades.”

Being selected as the 2012 South Puget Sound League 2A/3A Athletic Director of the Year -- for the second year in a row -- meant that Nordi was automatically in the running for the district title.

Washington is broken into nine athletic districts; each selects a nominee. Nominees assemble a portfolio that includes a biography, letters of recommendation and a questionnaire. A panel of judges selects the State Athletic Director of the Year from the nine nominees. Dave Cullen of East Valley (Yakima) and Ken Lindgren of Oaksdale were named co-winners.
