Clover Park Technical College Commencement Set for Wednesday

Clover Park Technical College’s Class of 2013 will walk across the Tacoma Dome stage on June 19 at 6:30 p.m. to mark the completion of their degree, certificate, or diploma.

Kathy Bressler, president of St. Clare Hospital, will serve as the keynote speaker at the event. Bressler, a registered nurse, has served as the president at St. Clare since 2006.

In addition to the keynote address, Kailene Sparrs, president of CPTC’s Associated Student Government, and Nathan Oelrich, vice president of student activities will also address their fellow students.

This year 1,093 students will have completed a degree, certificate or diploma at CPTC. More than 60 percent of them are female and the average age is 30. The oldest graduate this year is 66 and the youngest is 16. These students will have amassed more than 64,000 credits in their journey to complete their education.

This year mainly features graduates from the local area, but also includes students who originate from China, Japan, Vietnam and South Korea.

The graduation ceremony is open to the public and no tickets are required to attend the event.
