Convenience or Over Saturation With New 7-Eleven Coming on Busy Corner in Lakewood?
A 7-Eleven is slated to fill the old China King Buffet location on the corner of 100th Street/Lakewood Drive. Patch asks if this is a not-needed business and what type of property redevelopment you would like to see.
There's a new convenient store popping up on busy intersections every time I turn around. In Tacoma, I've noticed several new 7-Eleven stores pop up out of nowhere.
It's happening in the bordering town of Lakewood, too.
I'm all for adding convenience to the lives of busy South Sound residents but when does convenience become over saturated?

City of Lakewood Assistant Manager Dave Bugher recently told Patch that plans have been submitted to turn the property where the China King Buffet closed this past year into a 7-Eleven.
If you're a long-time Lakewood resident, I'm sure you've visited the China King Buffet located on the corner of 100th Street/Lakewood Drive. If you've never eaten there, it's impossible to have not noticed it. It's located on the corner of 100th Steet/Lakewood Drive, an extremely busy intersection.

There are four 7-Eleven stores not including all the other convenient store locations in Lakewood.
Do we really need a fifth 7-Eleven considering the closest one is about a 1-minute drive down the way on Gravelly Lake Drive? If you had a magic wand, what type of business or restaurant would you like to see at the corner of 100th/Lakewood Drive?
