The crash detoured traffic near the intersection of I-5 and 512.

LAKEWOOD, WA - The driver of a semi-trailer was arrested on charges of vehicular assault after allegedly causing a crash along State Road 512 Thursday afternoon. The truck rear-ended a Toyota Prius, and the woman driving the car was sent to Madigan Army Medical Center and was reportedly place in a medically-induced coma.
Washington State Patrol spokesman Todd Bartolac said that the driver of the semi-truck was impaired.
A number of other vehicles were involved in the crash. When the semi-trailer hit the Prius, the car was pushed across several lanes of traffic, damaging six vehicles in total, Bartolac said. One additional person was transported to Madigan.
