Four Lakes Seniors Named to Pre-Season All-State Football Team

After a run to the semifinals of the 2010 Class 3A state tournament, Lakes football is looking strong again in 2011 with four seniors making Ron Siegel's 2011 pre-season All-State team.

Ron Siegel released his annual pre-season all-senior, All-State team today and four Lakes Lancers were placed on the exlusive list.

Offensive players Levonte Littlejohn, Zach Banner and Cedric Dozier made the offensive team, while Zaheer Webb was selected on the defensive side.

Littlejohn, Dozier and Banner combined to lead a potent Lakes offense that finished the season with scoring average of 38.2 points per game and advanced to the semifinal round of the state tournament.

Running back Littlejohn and quarterback Dozier combined to rush for over 3,000 yards and 37 TD's, with Littlejohn averaging more than 10 yards per carry. Littlejohn will be back at running back this year, while Dozier is expected to step down from his quarterback role and play multiple positions, including wide receiver, running back and defensive back. Dozier has already received scholarship offers from a half-dozen Pac-12 schools.

The 6'8, 300-pound Banner anchored the offensive line and is ranked as the 18th best offensive tackle in the nation by espn.com. Banner has scholarship offers from the University of Washington, Michigan, USC, and Notre Dame, amongst others.

Defensive lineman Zaheer Webb, a 6'3, 315-pound nose tackle, was listed on the defensive team. Webb has received a scholarship offer from the University of Colorado.

Defensive back Ma'ne Manaea made the "seniors to watch" list. Manaea is coming off a junior season in which he appeared in only four games due to a concussion, but still recorded 19 tackles, two interceptions and a sack. Manaea has received a scholarship offer from Washington State University.

Lakes opens the season on September 2 at home against Clover Park.
