CO2 Tank Prompts Hazmat Response In Lakewood
Once the container was identified, firefighters relieved it of pressure.

LAKEWOOD, WA - A discarded CO2 container prompted a hazmat response in Lakewood Thursday morning. Firefighters were called to the 7400 block of 52nd Avenue West and found a container making a hissing noise, so they called the hazmat team.
The Pierce County Hazardous Incidents Team responded and was able to figure out that the tank was leaking CO2. The tank had been previously covered by garbage, according to West Pierce Fire.
Firefighters released the CO2 from the container:
