Head-On Car Collision in Lakewood-Steilacoom Intersection, Minor Injuries and Traffic Backups Reported

Slippery streets during rush hour on Friday night may have contributed in two-car accident.

Two drivers were involved in a head-on collision at the intersection of Steilacoom Boulevard and Farwest Drive. The accident occurred during rush hour traffic around 5 p.m. Friday night.

Neither of the drivers were seriously injured. The minivan and older model Cadillac struck head on while attempting to turn onto Steilacoom Drive. The Cadillac driver suffered minor injuries and the van driver suffered air bag burns, officers said.

"It was a case of two cars trying to beat the yellow light," Lakewood police said at the scene.
