Holroyd Co. Inc. Recycles Concrete and Asphalt

The 74th street plant in Lakewood has been around for more than a decade. The business takes in concrete and reprocesses it to be used for new buildings, roads and other construction projects.

I snapped a picture of the Holroyd concrete business located right next to the Walmart. After a quick Internet search, I learned that Holroyd Green Plant takes in concrete and asphalt from all sources and processes it into Washington State Department of Transportation specifications aggregate to be used for new buildings, roads and other construction projects, according to its web site.

Concrete is the most consumed material on the planet with 25 billion tons produced worldwide each year, but not many people think about recycling it.
