How Much Rain? Forecast Shows South Sound Getting More

Get ready for a long stretch of rain starting Monday night. The National Weather Service has released some rainfall estimates.

LAKEWOOD, WA - It might look bright and sunny outside right now, but come tonight and for the rest of the week it'll be just ... rainy. But how much? The National Weather Service on Monday released estimates on rain totals between Tuesday and Friday.

While the the mountains will get the most rain, the south Puget Sound area will get higher amounts closer to sea level (Olympia, yikes!). Here's what forecasts are saying right now:

  • Tacoma - 2.38 inches
  • Enumclaw - 2.61 inches
  • Olympia - 5.11 inches
  • Edmonds - 2 inches
  • Seattle - 2.33 inches
  • Snoqualmie Pass - 4.79 inches
  • Gold Bar - 4.60 inches
  • Everett - 2.19

This week's storm is the first significant rainstorm since last March. According to images released by NASA, the weather system bringing the rain stretches all the way from the Pacific Coast to China.
