The Humane Society for Tacoma Pierce County Offers Assistance for Community Cats.

If You Feed Cats, Fix them for Free!

If You Feed Cats, Fix them for Free!

If you are feeding or know someone who is feeding community cats  (previously known as stray cats) in zip codes 98387 and 98445  we can humanely trap them, spay or neuter them and return them to their outdoor homes to live out their lives.  Trap Neuter Return (TNR) is the only humane and effective method to permanently reduce community cat populations. Using established TNR methods our staff and volunteers will trap the animals, bring them to our partner spay and neuter clinic where the cats will receive an exam and surgery.  Additionally, the cats will be ear tip (the universal sign of a altered community cat) and ear mite treatment if needed. After a recovery period, the cats will be returned to their outdoor homes. TNR lowers shelter intake and euthanasia rate of cats and reduces costs for animal control.  Spay and neutering curbs nuisance behaviors such as yowling, fighting and spraying. No more unwanted kittens!

Please contact: PattyR@thehumanesociety.org for help with cats in zip codes 98387 and 98445.
