JBLM Aircraft Training Likely To Cause Extra Noise This Month

Neighbors living near the base can expect to hear some extra air traffic starting later this week.

LAKEWOOD, WA — Residents of the Lakewood area can expect a little extra noise this month, courtesy of an upcoming training program at Joint-Base Lewis-McChord.

As The News Tribune first reported, U.S. Army Special Operations Command will begin routing training Friday, which will continue through Dec. 17. During that time, crews will be using low-flying helicopters and plains throughout the night.

As with other JBLM training, that means there's likely to be some extra noise in the overnight hours.
