The cause of the airman's death is under investigation, according to base officials.

LAKEWOOD, WA - A Joint Base Lewis-McChord airman was found dead in his dorm room on base Tuesday afternoon, according to officials. The cause of death is still under investigation, but base officials do not suspect the airman was a victim of violence.
Cody Watt was an aerospace propulsion apprentice assigned to the 62nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron. He enlisted in the Air Force Oct. 18, 2016, and has been at JBLM since March 13, 2017.
“This loss comes as a shock and is felt deeply,” said Col. Rebecca Sonkiss, 62nd Airlift Wing commander, in a statement. “We are all grieving alongside Airman Watt’s family and extend our sincere condolences to them during this time of great personal loss."
