JBLM Soldier Murder: Family Offers $10,000 Reward For Info
Army Sgt. Timothy Hovey, originally from California, was killed outside a party in Burien last September.

LAKEWOOD, WA - The family of a Joint Base Lewis-McChord solider who was shot and killed in Burien last September is offering a reward for information that will lead to an arrest.
Timothy Hovey, 27, was shot to death on Sept. 4, 2016, while walking in the vicinity of a Burien party that he was attending. The shooting happened near the intersection of South 128th Street and 22nd Avenue South in Burien, just north of Seattle-Tacoma Airport.
Hovey was a Sergeant in the Army stationed at JBLM and was a member of the 5th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, Battery C. He was one month away from deployment to Iraq when he was killed. Hovey is originally from Roseville, Calif.

Hovey was discovered by his friends lying by the side of the road with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center, but died several hours after the shooting.

His family is offering a $10,000 reward for information, and Crime Stoppers is offering an additional $1,000 on top of that. If you know anything about the murder, call the King County Sheriff’s Office at 206-296-3311 or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
