Have you ever talked with a person who really wants to help people! I like to introduce one person who is truly making a real difference helping others. Courtney Larkins the founder of KNOCKS 4 SOCKS, distributes socks to help homeless street people in Pierce County. Knocks 4 Socks is a organization dedicated to addressing the Homeless by passing out socks. These socks have been collected by asking people for donation of socks.
"Our Mission is to assist the Homeless through offering of a gift compassion and clothes specifically socks!"
Courtney is a Peirce College Student and a Lakewood resident. It is through the asking of donations of pairs of socks that she wants to highlight concerns about Homeless.
She and her volunteers will go door to door in a community and leave a flyer that tells about Knocks 4 socks, which asks for a minor donation of... you guess it pairs of socks. The flyer tell the resident that someone will return in a week to pick up the donation.
Than the real work begins. Courtney and her helpers take the socks and try to find Homeless person's who are in need of them. "We engage them through the gift of the socks, show compassion and understanding, and give them information as to where they can get help."
South Hill Night Out and our family of network Business Salute's Courtney and her staff and thanks them for their service to the Community. For more information, and how you can help, View our Face Book page at www. facebook.com/Knocks 4 Socks.
