Lakes' Izaic Yorks Sets State Record in 800-Meter; Wins 1,600-Meter Crown

The Lancers' senior took the state crown today in Tacoma with a time of 1:50.56, nearly half a second better than the state mark that has stood for 15 years. Later in the day, he took the 1,600-meter crown with a time of 4.04.75.

If I was record, I'd stay clear of Lakes High's Izaic Yorks.

A week after setting the state mark in the 1600-meter run, the senior broke a state record in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:50.56, nearly half a second better than the previous record set in 1997.

Then, we just got word via Lakes Lancers' Twitter page feed that Yorks just took the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4.04.75.
