Lakewood Arts Commission On Hunt For Quartet of New Members
Four vacancies on commission to be filled by mayor.

The City of Lakewood is looking for a quartet of art aficionados.
Specifically, the city is accepting applications to fill four vacancies on the Lakewood Arts Commission, which assesses needs, establishes priorities and makes recommendations for enrichment of the community and promotion of its cultural vitality through the arts.
Among the Commission’s duties:

- Promote the visual, performing and literary arts;
- Encourage the creative contribution of local artists;
- Make recommendations for Public Art to the City Council;
- Support community-building events; and
- Foster the City’s cultural heritage.
Applicants must be Lakewood residents, and there is no compensation. Individuals working in the education community are desired.
One position is through Oct. 15 of this year; two are through Oct. 15, 2013; and one through Oct. 15, 2014.
