Lakewood Chick-fil-A Opening: 'First 100' Tradition With A Twsit

Every time a Chick-fil-A opens, the company gives away free chicken to the first 100 people in line.

LAKEWOOD, WA - As is tradition whenever a Chick-fil-A opens, the first 100 customers in line will get free food from the restaurant for one year. But with the grand opening of the Lakewood restaurant, the "first 100" tradition will come with a twist.

The first 100 in line at the Lakewood store will have to earn their free food. Owner Jason Davies will take the 100 customers around Pierce County to perform acts of community service throughout the day Wednesday.

The service tour will start at the Lakewood Mall Barnes and Noble, where the first 100 will pick out children's books to donate to charity. Next, they will go to a baseball field near Spanaway Lake Park to highlight local parks. Then they will head to Ward Lake Park for lunch and to help clean up the park.
