Lakewood Man Dies After Jumping Onto I-5

LAKEWOOD, WA - A 52-year-old Lakewood man died after jumping off the Thorne Lane overpass onto I-5 Wednesday night.

The incident occurred around 7 p.m. Wednesday. The man jumped into the northbound lanes, and the highway was shut down for about 15 minutes, according to Washington State Patrol.

The man was transported to Madigan Hospital at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. State police have classified the death as a suicide.
