Lakewood Police To Close Roads For DUI Investigation Tuesday

Officers say they hope to keep the investigation quick in order to minimize the impact on traffic.

LAKEWOOD, WA — Police are warning drivers to avoid a popular intersection midday Tuesday.

Officers say they need to close the intersection of Custer Road and John Dower road starting around 10 a.m. Tuesday so they can investigate a recent DUI crash in the area.

During the investigation the intersection will be completely closed, meaning drivers will have to find a detour. Police are suggesting commuters take Steilacoom Boulevard and Lakewood Drive to pass around the area.

Officers say they know that's a bit of a hassle, but that they needed to investigate during daylight and tried to pick a time when fewer people will be driving through the area. They hope to have the road reopened by 11 a.m.
