Lakewood Police Warn Of Suspicious 'Tru-Gard' Salesperson
Police are warning Lakewood residents to be on the lookout for someone from a company called "Tru-Gard."

LAKEWOOD, WA - Lakewood police are warning residents to be on the lookout for a suspicious man who is going door-to-door selling pest control for a company called "Tru-Gard." There are pest control companies in the U.S. called "True Guard," but Lakewood police say there isn't one operating locally.
The department says it has received several reports about the salesperson, who was apparently going door-to-door on July 8 along Gravelly Lake Drive. The salesperson apparently entered a property that was totally fenced off by going through a neighbor's yard.
Here's the full warning from Lakewood police:

We've had a couple of reports of a white male, 25-30 years old, 5'5" tall with brown hair going door to door trying to sell pest control services for a company called "Tru-Gard". He was wearing a tan button up shirt with the company's name above the left breast pocket and blue jeans. Unfortunately, we don't have any photos or video.
This occurred Last Saturday (July 8th) around 3pm in the 12700 block of Gravelly Lake Drive. The house he contacted is fenced off and he claimed went through a neighbors yard to gain access. He apparently contacted at least one other house in the neighborhood.
We have been unable to find a local company named "Tru-Gard" so we suspect the subject is either looking to scam homeowners or is scouting out properties for future burglaries.
If you see this subject, please call the non-emergency number for South Sound 911 253-798-4721. If you can safely take pictures of the subject and/or his vehicle, let us know.
