Lakewood Security Guard Facing Assault Charge After Impersonating Police: Report

Pretending to be a cop, the owner of a Lakewood security company allegedly pulled another driver over on I-5 in Seattle in February.

LAKEWOOD, WA - The owner of a Lakewood security company allegedly pretended to be a cop and pulled over a man along I-5 in Seattle, and then pointed a gun at the driver, according to a report.

The incident happened in late February near the Seneca Street exit in downtown Seattle, according to KOMO News. Michael J. Landen Jr., 38, was spotted pulling over the other driver by a King County Sheriff's detective, according to the report.

Landen was arrested and is now in jail face assault and criminal impersonation charges, according to KOMO. He is the owner of a Lakewood security company called P.O.I.I.C.E. Patrol, according to the report.

The King County detective spotted Landen's Ford Crown Victoria pull over the other driver, but was suspicious because Landen's car did not have police plates. Landen allegedly told police that the other driver was driving recklessly, which is why he pulled him over.
