Lakewood's Tori Smith leads Annie Wright gators to #1 ranking

Annie Wright Upper School’s volleyball team has been ranked #1 for Class 1A by the Washington State Volleyball Coaches Association on September 30, 2013.

 

The girl gators are currently undefeated with six wins within their league. On Friday, October 4, the team heads to Spokane for a tournament of 64 schools, including 3A and 4A teams.

In 2012 the team competed in the 1A Washington State Volleyball Championships, placing seventh. This year the team shows promise to compete for the State Championship again, with four of the returning players being All League Selections last year.

Leading the Annie Wright volleyball team this year are captains and seniors Margaux Arntson from Puyallup and Tori Smith from Lakewood, who both happen to stand over six foot and are left-handed.

 

 

Founded in Tacoma in 1884, Annie Wright Schools are two schools on one campus. Annie Wright Day School serves boys and girls in Preschool through Grade 8, while Annie Wright Upper School offers all-girls day and boarding programs for Grades 9 through 12.
