Learn About Cost-Effective Surgical Care at Open House

Lakewood Surgery Center is hosting an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11 at 7308 Bridgeport Way, Suite 201. Guests can tour the center and its operating rooms, get a free blood pressure screening, enjoy free refreshments, meet special guests and win door prizes.

West Pierce Fire & Rescue will give demonstrations of the center’s automatic external defibrillator from 9 a.m. to noon, and members of the Seattle Sounders women’s team also will be on hand.

Part of a nation-wide event, the open house will allow people to learn more about ambulatory surgery and the high level of care Ambulatory Surgery Centers provide.

An out-patient surgery center offers a more personalized setting and the full range of orthopedic surgery options is available to people in good health, including partial knee replacements and arthroscopic surgery for knees, wrists, shoulders, usually at a lower out-of-pocket cost for the patient.

Surgeries that do not require hospital admission are performed at ASCs. Patients who elect to have surgery in this setting arrive on the day of their procedure, have the surgery in a fully equipped operating room and recover under the care of the facility’s nursing staff, all without hospital admission.

Puget Sound Orthopedics’ nine board certified orthopedic surgeons operate at the center.
