Local Youth Earns Top Honor

Amber Galaz, 18 of Lakewood, a recent graduate of Curtis Senior High School and Sophomore at Pierce College was chosen Supreme Bethel Honored Queen at the July 24-27 2013 International Convention for Job's Daughters in Oakland California. Miss Galaz will hold the title until August 2014. Her duties include representing Job's Daughters while traveling to Brazil, Philippians, Australia, 5 provinces in Canada, and at least 30 states. Ms. Galaz is only the second person from Washington to hold this title since 1969. Ms. Galaz has been a member of the Federal Way Chapter for the past 5 years which meets in the Pyramid Masonic Center.

Job's Daughters is an international organization for youth ladies between the ages of 10 and 20.  There are 26 local chapters across the State of Washington, including local chapters in University Place, Puyallup, and Tacoma. Local chapters select their own peer leaders, complete service projects, arrange fun activities, and travel. For more information go to www.waiojd.org.
