Tacoma Man Identified As Lakewood Shooting Victim

Lakewood police believe the 18-year-old was shot while riding in a car on Monday night.

LAKEWOOD, WA — An 18-year-old man died in Lakewood Monday after a shooting. No arrests have been made, but police did search for two men who ran from the car the victim was riding in.

At around 8 p.m., Lakewood police responded to the 7-Eleven at 100th Street Southwest and Lakewood Drive. That's where they found the 18-year-old in the car with a gunshot wound. Another man drove the victim there, and remained at the scene.

The victim, Jullien Suzuki, of Tacoma, died at the scene police said. The Pierce County Medical Examiner did not release Suzuki's cause and manner of death as of Tuesday afternoon.

Two men who were also in the car ran from the scene. Lakewood investigators believe that the victim was shot inside the car.

Police are still investigating how the victim died, and did not immediately release the identities of the men who ran from the scene.

The last homicide in Lakewood happened in early August when Pyong Sun Ryan, 57, was stabbed to death at J's Barbershop, which she owned. Angel Manuel Martinez, 40, has been charged with murder in connection to Ryan's death, but has pleaded not guilty.
