Meet Harmony Johnson

Whiz Kid's name: Harmony Johnson

Whiz Kid's age: 17

Whiz Kid's school: Harrison Preparatory School

Whiz Kid's accomplishment: Harmony, a senior, is Harrison Prep’s ASB president. She also is involved with leadership and the school’s yearbook staff, and has served on the Lakewood Youth Council.

After high school, she plans to attend the University of Washington and major in either political science or international relations. Her ultimate goal is to find a career that allows her to travel and experience different cultures.

Whiz Kid's key to awesomeness: Harmony, who first became involved with student government in seventh grade, said that participating gives her “the perfect excuse to be energetic and make an impact.”

“Harrison Prep has always been my home,” she said, “and the reason why I became president was to encourage others to take pride in our school.”

Harmony said that her favorite thing about being a senior is looking at the possibilities that lie ahead. She especially enjoys exploring different colleges and imagining herself on those campuses.

“Sometimes it can feel overwhelming, between finding colleges and putting together our senior projects, but it’s a great learning experience,” she said.

And she is a big believer in the notion that life does not come with directions.

“I live my life the best way I know how – trying to help others, and encouraging others to push themselves.”
