Clover Park senior is the recipient of a scholarship to the University of Washington, Tacoma.

Whiz Kid's accomplishment: Jordan, a senior, won a one-year scholarship to the University of Washington, Tacoma, through the Boys & Girls Club of South Puget Sound. As the Youth of the Year for the Lakewood branch, he was a finalist for the regional title.

Jordan, who is involved with Clover Park’s Air Force JROTC program, plans to major in music or graphic design – or maybe both.

He said that hearing his name announced as the scholarship winner at the Legacy of Hope dinner was amazing.

“I can go to college without being so stressed out,” he said. “And I know I will be able to further myself in the future.”

Whiz Kid's key to awesomeness: Jordan credited his positive outlook on life for his success.

“Just be yourself and do what you love to do,” he said.

Jordan said his favorite thing about being a senior is knowing that it his last year of high school – and that he is maturing as a young adult.

“I have been at the Boys & Girls Club for five years and I enjoy being there and being around the people that I have bonded with for many years now,” he said.
