Meet Michael Fernandez

Clover Park High graduate says the late nights were worth it when it came to finishing high school with honors. Next, he plans to study computer engineering.

Whiz Kid's accomplishment:
Michael, a 2011 honor graduate, is off to the University of Washington, Tacoma, in the fall, where he plans to study computer engineering. At , he was a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club and played on the varsity tennis team. He also served as a Community In Schools tutor at .

Michael’s greatest accomplishments during his time at Clover Park were graduating 14th in his class of more than 200 students and having perfect attendance during his four years of high school.

Whiz Kid's key to awesomeness: Michael said that God, his family and friends helped him get through high school. He also credits the teachers at Clover Park for encouraging him to achieve his goals, and lastly, himself. “I chose to not give up, and instead, gave my best,” he said.

Michael said that his most memorable moments of high school were pulling all-nighters to finish homework and papers that were due the next day. “They may have been a pain in the neck, but they were my favorite moments,” he said. “I will never forget them.”
