Puyallup Man Dies In Multi-Car Crash On 512

The crash happened just before 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the eastbound lanes of SR 512.

LAKEWOOD, WA - A fatal crash involving a motorcycle, a semi, and several passenger cars snarled traffic along SR 512 Thursday afternoon. The crash happened before 4:30 p.m. near the Steele Street exit. In the wake of the crash, all but one lane was open, with some drivers reporting close to an hour to travel from I-5 past the scene of the crash.

There were at least five vehicles involved in the crash, plus the motorcycle, according to state patrol. At least three people - including two children - were extricated from one of the cars and taken to local hospitals. The motorcyclist was dead at the scene.

State Patrol identified the motorcyclist as Michael Seese, 39, of Puyallup.

By 7 p.m., the crash scene was still active, and the Steele Street exit to Parkland had been closed.

All lanes of SR 512 were reopened around 9:15 p.m. Thursday after state patrol concluded its investigation.

This is the third serious crash along SR 512 this week. Early Wednesday morning, Kati Shackelford, 30, of Puyallup, died after crashing into the back of a semi parked along the side of the highway. Right after that accident, Megan Webb, 21, also of Puyallup, allegedly drove her SUV into the back of a WSDOT truck parked at the scene. Webb's passenger, Hannah Davis, 21, was seriously injured.
