Pierce County Deputy Injured In Head-On Crash Recovering
The Pierce County Sheriff's office has released an update on the injured deputy's condition.

LAKEWOOD, WA - A Pierce County Sheriff's deputy injured in a serious head-on collision in Parkland on Tuesday is recovering, but suffered multiple injuries in the crash.
Pierce County identified the deputy as David Rose, 34, who has worked for the sheriff's office since 2015, and is a school resource officer with the Bethel School District.
Rose suffered broken bones, cuts, and a concussion in the accident. He is recovering at an area hospital.

"We are hopeful that he will make a full recovery and are incredibly thankful considering the severity of the collision and the injuries he suffered as a result. Please join us in continuing to keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers," the sheriff's office said in a Facebook post.
The accident happened Tuesday afternoon in Parkland along the 600 block of Tule Lake Road South. According to the sheriff's office, a pickup truck struck Rose's car after losing control while coming around a corner. The pickup driver was apparently try to pass a van while going around the corner, and may have hit a patch of ice.

The driver may be cited for negligent driving, the sheriff's office has said.
