The Clover Park School District Board of Directors will host a public hearing regarding the district’s use of Initiative 728 funds for the 2011-12 school year and proposed use for the 2012-13 school year on Monday evening.
I-728 funds were discontinued by the state in 2009; therefore, the report covers the use of carryover funds from the 2008-09 school year. The hearing begins at 5:45 p.m. in Room 4 of the Student Services Center, 10903 Gravelly Lake Drive. S.W.
Immediately following the public hearing, the board will hold its regularly scheduled meeting.

I-728 was passed by 72 percent of state voters on the November 2000 ballot. It provided additional money to help students reach new state learning standards and also dedicated certain state revenues to a "Student Achievement Fund," which increased over time.
Under I-728, school districts were authorized to use funds to reduce class
size; and provide extended learning opportunities, professional developmen, early assistance for children in need of pre-kindergarten support and building improvements relating to class-size reductions.
