Pilot Injured In Plane Crash Near Spanaway Airport: Police
A small plane has crashed in Spanaway just east of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, according to firefighters.

SPANAWAY, WA - The pilot of an ultra-light aircraft crashed near the runway at Spanaway Airport Thursday morning. The pilot, a man in his 30s, sustained injuries to his face and a fractured leg, according to Pierce County police and fire officials. The pilot was the only person on the plane.
The plane crashed near the 200 block of 192nd Street East near the intersection of B Street, which is just a few blocks east of the intersection of SR 7 and Spanaway-McKenna Highway. The scene of the crash is just east of Joint Base Lewis-McChored and at the southeastern end of the Spanaway Airport runway.
The Federal Aviation Administration is reportedly on the way to the scene to investigate.
