PREVIEW: Tyee Park Students, Lt. Gov. Owen, to Honor Tuskegee Airmen Feb. 14

Patch will be there to cover the school event on Valentine's Day.

students are hosting a concert called Each Of Us Has A Light from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14 at the school.

Lt. Gov. Brad Owen will speak briefly about diversity before introducing the Tuskegee Airmen. George Hickman, one of the original WWII Tuskegee Airmen in attendance, will then share his personal story.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to be watch history come alive, and to be part of an environment of musical grandeur performed by Tyee Park's children," said Tracey Lundquist, fine arts teacher.

Students will sing, act and dance to a collection of music from different cultures. A reception will follow to give attendees the opportunity to meet the Tuskegee Airmen. For more information, contact Lundquist at 253-583-5380.
