Ready for Tuesday Elections?
Here's a last-minute run-down of what you need to know for Tuesday's general elections. For all things elections-related, be sure to check out Lakewood Patch's Voting Guide for the latest, including live Election Day Coverage.

Election season is almost over in Lakewood. This year's general race is happening tomorrow, Nov. 8. Lakewood does not have any City Council seats up for grabs but there other challenged positions within the Clover Park School District and the newly formed West Pierce Fire & Rescue.
Patch asked candidates in all races to complete and submit a profile form.

Outside of local races, Lakewood residents will also be voting on an issue pertaining to Pierce County — South Sound 911 (Resolution No. R2011-87). South Sound 911 proposes improvements to the 911 emergency
communication system through funding from county residents. If passed, it would authorize a countywide, one-tenth of one percent (0.01 percent) local sales and use tax to fund costs associated with financing, design, acquisition,
construction, equipping, operating, maintaining, remodeling, repairing and re-equipping the county's 9-1-1 emergency communication system and the facilities infrastructure.

There are five statewide initiatives that will need your vote as well. Check the Secretary of State site here for more information.
- Initiative Measure 1125: Concerning state expenditures on transportation.
- Initiative Measure 1163: Concerning long-term care workers and services for elderly and disabled people.
- Initiative Measure 1183: Concerning liquor: beer, wine, and spirits (hard liquor).
- Senate Joint Resolution 8205: Concerning the length of time a voter must reside in Washington to vote for president and vice president.
- Senate Joint Resolution 8206: Concerning the budget stabilization account maintained in the state treasury.
Ballots were mailed out Oct. 19 so chances are you may have already voted. But in case you haven't, here are a few links and reminders:
