Recall Affects Wal-Mart Mac and Cheese Products

The manufacturer suspects the cheese packets may be contaminated with a harmful bacteria.

LAKEWOOD, WA - The distributor of Great Value macaroni and cheese cup products sold at Wal-Mart has issued a recall over possible salmonella contamination.

Treehouse Foods Inc. issued the voluntary recall on Monday after a supplier informed the Illinois company that the cheese packets may be contaminated. Treehouse distributes the Great Value brand macaroni and cheese cups, which are sold at Wal-Mart.

The Great Value macaroni and cheese cups were distributed nationwide. You can identify the product by looking for the "best by" date. Products with the following sell-by dates should be discarded or returned to the store for a refund:
