A thief with a thing for cookies was arrested this week in Lakewood.

LAKEWOOD, WA - A robber dubbed the "cookie thief" was arrested this week in Lakewood when he showed up to check in with his parole officer.

The 46-year-old suspect was arrested in connection to close to a dozen robberies in Seattle and King County recently. According to police, his signature was to ask for a cookie right before he flashed a gun and demanded money.

Police say the man was targeting coffee shops and other eateries. The robberies have been happening since Jan. 4. Investigators were able to connect the man to the armed robberies because of a fingerprint he left at the scene of one of the crimes.
