Semi Driver In 96th Street Crash In Lakewood 'Negligent': WSP
The crash Thursday evening closed 96th Street for more than eight hours.

LAKEWOOD, WA - A semi driver who on Thursday drove off I-5 and onto 96th Street in Lakewood is facing a second-degree negligent driving charge, according to Washington State Patrol.
The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. when Karamjeet Singh, 24, of Surrey, B.C., veered off northbound I-5, down an embankment, and crossed all lanes of 96th Street.
The trailer virtually disintegrated during the crash, spilling cargo all over the road. No other vehicles were involved. The cleanup and investigation closed 96th Street for more than 8 hours Thursday night.

Singh was injured in the crash and taken to St. Joseph Hospital. Police believe he may have been driving while distracted.
